Buying & Selling Car & Vehicle Scrap
CB Pugh Metal Recycling is only able to accept separated automotive scrap metal. Car bodies can be purchased as long as all engine components, alloys, tyres, brakes and interiors have been removed.
Removed components can be weighed in separately as:
- Engines and gearboxes (all oil drained) – automotive irony aluminium
- Alloy Wheels (no tyres) – aluminium or steel
- Brake discs – steel or irony aluminium

Do I need identification to sell scrap?
Yes. In line with scrap metal trading legislation, anyone supplying scrap who is not a registered company must provide valid identification. Accepted ID includes a UK photocard driving licence (with address) or a UK passport (or passport of another nationality) supported by a recent utility bill (issued within the last 3 months).
